The 24" (approximately f/4.64) Newtonian Telescope was optically designed by Bob Douglas. The mirror was crafted by Ray Burk, Bob Douglas, Bret Floyd, Eugene Lauria, Jim Zebrowski and Joe Zuraw. Testing was done at Liebmann Optical. The mirror mount was built by Bruce Blanchard. Bill Falcone constructed the rocker base, mirror box , upper cage and truss assembly.
The 24" Newtonian will reside in the Roll-Away Observatory that will be constructed near the Summit. The 24" Newtonian is removable and will tour local areas for Public Observing.
