History Booklet

Have you ever wondered how Arunah Hill got started?  Are you curious as to what Arunah Hill was like in those early, embryonic years when a few dedicated amateur astronomers set out to fulfill a vision of a publicly accessible dark sky observatory?

Last winter, longtime Arunah Hill member and former View from Arunah Editor Chuck Musante sought answers to these questions, both for himself and for the many new members of Arunah Hill. The result of his efforts was a twelve page booklet that details the period of Arunah Hills history from 1984 to the spring of 1999.

The historical account is based primarily on interviews the author conducted with several of the key figures in the history of Arunah Hill, including: Joe Zuraw, Steve Pielock, Tom Whitney, John Davis, Ed Faits.

Ray Burk, one of the original Arunah Hill members who was not interviewed (due to logistical problems) kindly reviewed the manuscript, adding many helpful insights.

As part of Arunah Hills continuing fund raising efforts, this booklet is available for a tax deductible contribution to Arunah Hill of $10.00 or more.  Please help support the good work going on at Arunah Hill and enjoy a good story at the same time.
