A large Tupperware container, just off the white blaze Farrington Trail at Arunah Hill. No Dogs allowed on the property. A short way up the Farrington trail, past the stone wall on one of the steeper sections of the trail. The trail is usually in good shape but the ice storm of December '08 did a number on parts of the trails. The Boy Scouts have been busy clearing trails, so the terrain rating should drop one they do there magic. You can continue up the trail to Billy's Log, Raven's Perch, and Poet's Rock caches.

Part of a series of caches along the trails at the Arunah Hill Natural Science Center. Just off the red blaze Pileated Path trail where it meets the Amanda Trail and Klondike Connector. No dogs allowed at Arunah Hill please. The Pilated Path suffered significant damage during the Dec'08 ice storm. The Boy Scouts have cleared the trail, but some of the blazes were on trees that are now rotting logs so it might take a little effort to stay on the trail. Can continue on from Poet's Rock to get this one, past the summit. If you come that way be sure to stay on the Pileated Path. The Amanda Trail / Klondike connector still is not completely cleared after the December '09 ice storm and may require some short bushwaking if you come in or out that way. This cache marks the edge of Arunah Hill property, please respect our neighbors.

Just off the clearing off a yellow blaze path. Tupperware covered with a bit of camo tape. Take the Arunah Hill driveway off Trouble St. PMissiles Ready to Launchark at the lower lot and follow the gravel road to the clearing. Road to the clearing is passable with high clearance vehicles during dry weather, but is not passable in winter or after heavy rains. The cache is hidden in a area where the trees have snagged some Estes rockets when kids misjudge the wind. As a matter of fact, I found a nosecone on the ground and parts of a parachute up in a tree nearby.

Camo covered tubberware canister in an area where woodpeckers are having fun with a couple of nearly dead trees. Nearly 300 foot bushwack from the Klondike Connector / Amanda trail. Some blowdown from old storms, but if you pick you path carefully it shouldn't be too bad. Probably best to return straight to the trails to continue to other caches. No dogs allowed on Arunah Hill. Park at the below location and complete the loop in either direction. Cache between "Igloo" below and "Klondike Bar" above. "Missle Range" is nearby but is not on this trail loop. Its best reached by going to the clearing from Dogleg Corner, then look of the short trail to "Missile Range".

A very large cache container, a genuine Igloo. Will hold large trade objects, but not necessarily heavy items. Either the first or last of a loop of caches on the Arunah Hill Natural Science Center property. Parking suggested at the below coordinates, though if the driveway to the hilltop is open you can drive pretty close to this one. It's just a few yards off the White Trail. You probably don't want to bushwack from the small parking lot.

Tubberware style canister behind a stone wall along Trouble Street. Back in the 1950's the property was Arunah Bartlett's farm. Arunah was know to befriend escaped slaves and help them on their way to Canada and freedom. A bit of a walk from the below parking cooridinates. Also accessable from Trouble Street, though please respect neighbors.. The below parking is near the trailhead for the Farrington Trail and the start of a loop that will take you to 8 caches. The barn and all trails are part of the Arunah Hill NSC. The Arunah Hill Natural Science Center is a non-profit dedicated to the study of science and nature. On any given clear night, you might catch astronomers from all over New England enjoying star gazing under dark skies from the top of the hill. Turn off your flashlight and ask, they'll show you wonderful sites in their telescopes!
